Who We Are

The 21st Century Community Learning Center Program operates Monday through Friday from 3:30- 5:30 serving some Title I schools; it reaches high-poverty neighborhoods of Anchorage. The students in the 21st CCLC have a strong academic and behavioral need for additional support. 21st Century Community Learning Centers offer activities which enhance and reinforce academic subjects.

What We Do

21st Century Community Learning Centers

The Anchorage 21st CCLC model is an afterschool academic enrichment program designed to assist students in developing academic, social, and everyday living skills.  The program also encourages family and community involvement.

 Currently, the 21st CCLC program provides afterschool enrichment classes for K-8 students in core academics areas through homework help, tutoring, drug and abuse prevention, technology training, team building, social skill development, recreation and the arts.

 Programs are held at ten Title1 elementary publlic school faciltities and one middle school.These centers offer strong afterschool programs which unite schools and communities to help kids develop into healthy adults.

The 21st Century Community Learning Center Programs are funded by grants from the State of Alaska Dep’t of Education and Early Childhood Development and from other public grants and donations.

  Program Goals

1. To enable students to meet or exceed benchmarks and standards by providing academic support (especially in the areas of math, reading, and science).

 2. To enable students to develop positive attitudes, skills, and behaviors.

 3. To support students' success through community partnerships and other components that strengthen parents and families.
