Anchorage Montessori School

Anchorage Montessori School has been serving the Anchorage community since 1977 providing a quality education using a time-tested model developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.

This system is based on the child’s developmental need for freedom with limits and uses a carefully prepared environment.  The prepared environment guarantees exposure to materials and experiences through which the child develops intelligence and academic growth along with physical and psychological abilities.   

Teachers are observers and guides preparing the environment and aiding in the growth and development of the students.  A Montessori education fosters self-motivation, independence, and critical thinking skills.
