Who We Are
New Hope on the Last Frontier is a faith-based nonprofit in Anchorage. Throughout our 15-year history, we have impacted lives in multiple ways. Since 2002, we have operated a food pantry, homeless church, and various education and recovery programs. Our foundation through the years has been our Food Pantry. What started as a small pantry feeding 50 families out of a small closet has grown to feeding 200+ families each week out of a 600 sq. ft. market. To our pantry, we have added our HelpDesk, cooking classes, and community garden programs to better equip our clients for success.
New Hope on the Last Frontier Compassionate Ministries extends well beyond our own programs. We have opened our facility to offer space for others to impact our world. We are home to Alaska Right to Life, Christ Temple Apostolic Church, First Samoan Church of the Nazarene, Fountain of Christian Love Church, and Frontier Native Church. We continue to look for ways to partner and support other ministries across the city. We are members of the Coalition to End Homelessness and Alaska Food Coalition.
What We Do
Our foundation through the years has been our Food Pantry. We continue to look for ways to partner and support other ministries across the city. We are members of the Coalition to End Homelessness and Alaska Food Coalition.
We also work closely with South Central Foundation, Anchorage Faith in Action Communities Together, and the Thanksgiving Blessing Program. We receive support from organizations like Alaska Community Foundation, WebCo., Target, Food Bank of Alaska, HomeDepot, Camp Maranatha, various churches, including ChangePoint, Anchorage Baptist Temple, the Church of the Nazarene, and All Saints Episcopal, CMI, New Sagaya City Markets, Northrim Bank, Rotating Services and numerous others.
This past year, our Food Pantry served 1800 people each month, saving our clients hundreds of dollars allowing them to pay for medicine, utilities, housing, and gas. Each week, we find that 20% of our clients have never used our services before. Many of our families are working poor, veterans, and retirees. They have received close to 150,000 lbs. of food, countless hours of pastoral counseling and care, and thousands of dollars in holiday gifts and housewares.
We are passionate about transformation and compassion. We value faith, dignity, and hope in and for our clients. Without faith in Jesus Christ, hope for the future, and dignity in the present, our clients and our world will never find the strength to truly break the bonds that hold them. Our belief is that through collaboration, we can make an even bigger impact in the Anchorage community.
