Volunteer: Camp K Work Day PrepJoin us as we open up Camp K on Kenai Lake and prepare for this summer’s campers! Share a fun day of working together and exploring camp. In addition to helping us get the camp ready for the kids, we are inviting guests to stay the night before to have a mini camp experience! If this sounds like something you would be interested in please let us know and we will provide more details. Some of the typical tasks that take place at this event are: Clean cabins and shower houseTrail maintenance/brush clearingCheck the beach for debris (trash, drift wood, etc)Clean kitchen and dining hallPrep and move firewood for dining hall and fire circleSet up waterfront sports and target sports areaSet up canvas tents and beds.Don’t worry, many hands make light work! The arrival time on Friday evening will be about 6:00-8:00pm, with smore’s around the campfire beginning at 6:30pm. If you decide to join us overnight, a packing list and more details will be provided. You are more than welcome to come for the Camp K Work Day even if you do not want to stay overnight the night before! The Camp K Work Day will get started around 9:00 am, and will likely finish up around 3:00 pm. There will be light breakfast items and hot coffee in the morning, lots of water throughout the day, and lunch sometime between Noon and 1:00 pm. Dress appropriately for working outdoors, including a light jacket for rain and closed toed shoes. Please bring work gloves, hat, and sunscreen.
