Who We Are
For economic and environmental reasons, REAP believes Alaska, the United States, and the Earth will benefit greatly from the rapid development of renewable energy resources and that Alaska can and should be a leader in such development.
To reach its goal, REAP has adopted five primary objectives:
- Promote energy efficiency.
- Work to get viable renewable energy projects in the ground.
- Build a market for renewable energy in Alaska.
- Foster and demonstrate stakeholder unity in support of renewable energy.
- Work to implement policies that will increase the production of renewable energy in Alaska.
REAP volunteers play an essential role in educating and engaging hundreds of people all over the state. We are always on the lookout for dynamic and dedicated people who want to be a part of the REAP team. Volunteers are a critical component to our success!
Why us? REAP is Alaska’s first and only renewable education and advocacy group. We host premier energy-related events and conduct important outreach central to furthering our mission. Our successful team has made a number of critical accomplishments toward these goals, and together, we can make more.
Why you? Volunteering for REAP will offer opportunities to bring increased use of efficient and renewable energy to the state, meet some of Alaska (and even the nation)’s clean energy experts, and get a behind the scenes look at our events. Not to mention, it will provide a valuable resume-builder or professional reference opportunity!
