Who We Are

The Salvation Army is dedicated to caring for the poor, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, loving the unlovable, and befriending the friendless. This dedication has produced an international network of helpful ministries. The Salvation Army's ministry in Alaska began in 1898 and quickly spread throughout communities in Southeast Alaska. By the 1950's, the Army's ministry had expanded north, to serve the needs of individuals in communities, including Anchorage and Fairbanks.

What We Do

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865. In Alaska The Salvation Army ministry offers spiritual encouragement and basic services to meet the needs of Alaskans in sixteen communities.
