Who We Are

As the largest voluntary health organization in the United States, the American Cancer Society is passionately committed to saving lives from cancer. We’re working to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays – a world where cancer never steals another year from anyone’s life. We combine our relentless passion with the wisdom of nearly a century of experience to make this vision a reality... and we get results.

Together with our supporters, the American Cancer Society is saving lives by helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back. No other cancer-fighting organization has such a comprehensive mission. Thanks to our more than 3 million volunteers, we're able to raise funds and invest in lifesaving cancer research, educational initiatives on cancer prevention and early detection, and free programs and services for cancer patients and their families.
