The World Discovery Seminar (WDS) program at Chugiak High School is hosting our annual Day of Caring on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. We would be delighted to invite adult volunteers to join us for this meaningful event.
Day of Caring is a spring tradition at Chugiak during which WDS students and teachers dedicate a day to giving back to the community, both within the school and beyond. Activities vary each year, but typically we engage in projects such as washing cars, planting gardens, reading stories to children, making Mother’s Day cards, campus clean-up, rock painting, crafting gifts, and creating blankets for those in need. In past years, we have partnered with organizations such as Covenant House, Eagle River Food Bank, and the Chugiak/Eagle River Senior Center. We would be honored to welcome United Way and invite members of your community to participate.
Event Details:
WDS Day of Caring will take place on Tuesday, April 21, from 10:00 AM to 3:15 PM at Chugiak High School and nearby locations. We are seeking adult volunteers who can contribute at least 90 minutes, though we warmly welcome those who are able to stay for the full day. All volunteers are required to complete the ASD Volunteer Application Form.
Thank you for considering this opportunity and we look forward to the possibility of partnering with you. I am including our WDS teachers on this email — they can answer questions or assist with coordination as needed.
