Anchorage Youth Court's (AYC) summer new member class is July 15-17. This is a great volunteer opportunity for students in the Municipality of Anchorage entering grades 7 – 12 between the ages of 12-18.
Youth interested in AYC must take the class before they begin volunteering. In this class students will learn about the court system and how to prepare to handle AYC court cases. After they take the class and become a new member, they can volunteer their time in trainings, adjudicating cases for their peers, and other volunteer opportunities throughout the community.
The class will be taught at the Snowden Training Center by District Court Judge Pamela Washington.
